MARCH - MAY 2024

The Youth and Family Center of McHenry County (YFC) in Illinois, a women-led nonprofit supporting youth, families, and adults—especially the Spanish-speaking and biculturally challenged—lacked a social strategy and email marketing. My capstone group developed a scalable and feasible digital marketing strategy for their upcoming capital campaign.

my role

I led the YFC's email marketing strategy, focusing on:

  • defining beyond basic segmentation

  • crafting user-friendly templates via Klaviyo

  • introducing automated email flows to enhance in-house efficiency and donor engagement. 

key insights

Working with YFC presented unique challenges due to limited funding.

 

My solution involved streamlining processes to demonstrate that impactful marketing can be achieved without hefty investments. In addition, communicating either in real-time or at critical moments can enhance donor engagement and retention.
